I don't wish to urinate on your parade but Burns died of a brain tumour and McRea in a helicopler crash, not realy career related.

wtf?

How can you say "it comes with the territory", then give 3 examples, only one of which actually dies while partaking in his chosen career/sport?

Mcrae died in a helicopter crash, which could happen to anyone in a heli...

Burns died of brain cancer.... Also nothing to do with rallying!

Back to topic... very sad news, but anyone taking part in fmx knows the risks.

sad news that

Doing a double seat grab backflip, he under rotated and landed with the bike 90 degrees nose down, head first into the ground :(

Nasty, poor sod. Always thought the backflip would end in tragedy. It is an amazing thing to see, but i don't think you could win a freestyle comp now without a backflip combo:(

Definitely, I seem to remember reading recently that Twitch is building a bike so he can do tailwhips...

GRIFF55 24-02-2009 12:24 AM

i saw the design for the triple clamps on that somewhere, cant remember where??
Did you see Travis do the double flip, that was something else! There have been some amazing tricks this x games that didn't need flips, just body varials

I was at the bike show a few years ago at the NEC, one fella went to do a backflip and only made it 180 deg and came down on his head and shoulders, i felt sick watching it but he got up and went for another attempt.

I was amazed he wasn't taken away on a stretcher.

Oh Ash, you're a cock :woot:

I still think Chuck Carothers' old school 'Carolla' is the most spectacular looking trick... (at 0:40)
