Can I damage a Lipo by...

...accidently fully charging it a week before I need to!

Just wondered if it could hurt it, basically forgot it was on charge and only remembered when it beeped as fully charged, not sure if I should run it a bit to drop the charge level, or if its ok to leave it?

I would leave it, cannot see a problem

it won't damage it at all.....

No damage should have occured,
LiPo dont have the hideous self discharge of Nickle based cells. so they should be fine. Probably wont need topping up just measure the cell voltage should be 4.16- 4.2V but no higher, if ok just go ahead and use them.

I have always recharged mine when I've finished racing ready for practice the following week. As far as i'm aware there is no problem in doing this, and the voltage is still at 8.4 volts the following week.

the gumph says upto a month before use is fine. i have chanced 10 days before knowing it was just a practise pack and not had a problem so just leave them

Nathan, thought I should let you know the boughton village hall are going to send you the bill for a new concrete pillar lol :woot:

niggs98 19-02-2009 10:05 PM

lmao did i chip it then
was suprised after the impact as all i did was to break a ball joint and crack a wheel. not bad for flat out into a concrete pillar half way down a straight. must thank the nameless person who gave me a helpfull nudge in there dispite being lapped and right behind the leader lol

I didn't check but it wouldn't surprise me. Both Ollie and me cringed as it hit lol.

the oooooooohhhhhhhhhh i got from those in the hall told me it went in well. when i opened my eyes again it had already been picked up :woot:
