Futaba FHSS receiver issue

Recently purchased a Futaba R204GF-E receiver from a well known auction site to be used in one of my cars.

For some reason however I cannot get it to bind with my T4GRS. I've followed the procedure and just get a flashing led on the receiver which apparently means "mismatched ID" whatever that is.

I've tried binding on FHSS, S-FHSS and T-FHSS modes but without success.

The seller has been very good and has offered a refund but I thought I'd ask on here before I return it if anyone else has encountered such an issue and whether they managed to resolve it, or what the "mismatched ID" means?

TIA.

Same issue?:

Not sure TBH.

The seller fully refunded me - he even had problems re-binding it to his own 4PL when he got it back but did manage it in the end.

I did email Ripmax to see if they could help - the flashing green led could either mean a faulty receiver or transmitter - basically it means the receiver can see a signal from the Tx but it's not strong enough to bind. Existing bound receivers will still work but it's not enough to bind a new one. Can't see how that works but that's what I was told.

How close as the tx to the rx.
Ive had issues if they too close.
Hold tx 3 or 4 foot away and bing. Jobs a goodun

I tried everything from having the rx touching the tx aerial, to having it a good 6ft away, and everywhere inbetween. Wasn't having it.

When I ran a FrSky converted KO Esprit 2 that would sometimes not bind if you were too close to the rx, almost as if the tx signal was swamping the rx. A foot or two between them and they'd bind immediately.

Having spent a large sum of money for the T4GRS and a plethora of receivers for all my toys, that's not really an option. The T4GRS is an awesome bit of kit.
