I tried a counter sink bit I got with a big drill bit set and it was rubbish. Recommendations please?? Ta |
I have been using these with good results in both Carbon and Aluminium

Ta...yep good old wikipedia. I wil want do unc for these holes and metic in future projects.
According to wikipedia unc is 82.5 deg and metric is 89.9 deg. Thanks guys |
i use appropriately angled conical diamond bits for countersinking carbon now, it kills the normal countersink bits, save them for alloy now.

Best countersunk bit I have came across, the right angle for M3 headed screws and carbide so it will last donkeys even on carbon ;) |

Hi All
I picked up an 82 deg 6 mm bit which worked great for the 4-40 screws and also a 90 deg bit which worked for the m3 screws. Not sure how many holes i'll get done using these bits but for £6 for them both it did the job I needed doing. Next, I need to find someone who will cut a piece of brass for me neatly if I supply the template???? |
