Acetone.. how much you paying
 

as per the title, I have been boiling my tyres off and now Im fed up, especially as Im going thru tyres quite fast as Im trying to up my game.

found a place locally and they said £12 for 5 litres

cheaper than the beauty place I tried as they wanted £28 for 5 litres, but is £12 about the going rate

Last lot I got was off eBay,£15 delivered,pure acetone:thumbsup:

Thats good price depending on quality

I pay about 10 for pure acetone from a paint/chemical company for 5 liters trade .so sounds right

£12 a gallon from a local plastics place...

I cut the tire off, remove the insert and then put just the wheel in the acetone with the beads of the tire on, a day later take them out and the bead falls off :thumbsup:

Ready to go again :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Does anyone have a link for pure acetone that can be delivered?

cheers guys, the seller told me acetone prices been real high and he expects to do it for cheaper in the future

I got it in a big tub with sealed lid, plan is to pour it back in the 5L container and store it that way, be interesting to see how many wheels it will recover for me, already thats 10 pairs done, so thats paid for itself

love how easy it is, didnt expect the beads to come off so easy or clean

now I just have to learn to glue tyres on and not get the foam insert too, they right chunked up as they stuck to the rims

You dont need to fully submergevthem, i use about a litre in a tub to remove the tyre/glue, then have another pot of clean stuff to drop the wheels in, over time it will turn yellow, the second pot lets the wheels get cleaner, then when pot 1 is really yellow and slow, put pot 2 into pot 1 and have another fresh pot 2

I've been removing mine with a heat gun and it seems to work really well. Fast and doesn't smell. There are lots of youtube videos where people do this.
