entry level cars?

I am a little impressed over the new breed of entry level racers like the yokomo bmax (eurochamp) and now the hpi cyber 10b. I have also loked at following cars Tamiya Durga kyosho lazer and Predator xrs.. have i forgotten anyone? Seems to me that with these very capable cars and lipo and brushless motors we have good times ahead:lol:. What do you think about these cars?

I'm a big fan of them. I raced the Durga a lot last year - even at the Euros, and it was a fantastic car. I don't know about the others since I didn't test them yet (hey - I tried!!) but I think they all need a few small upgrades to compete at a high level - I'm talking about things like shocks / slipper / screws etc.... I raced the Durga box standard and it was great even with the kit shocks.

I think when you start adding lots and lots of things they don't make so much sense, but if you keep the mods to the minimum you get a top racer for little money. Some people don't like moulded plastic stuff but I love it.

From what I've seen the Durga looks good, as does the B-max.

The ZX5 readyset car needs a few upgrades to go proper racing but is by far the best value for money for a bit of club racing with the standard electrics!!!!

Can't comment on the others having never seen them go.

Jimmy, i think your work is ace.. Oople is my oasis. I do think there is great chance for us old farts:blush: to get in to racing again for a low cost.
Keep the old lady calm he he.. I am curious about the xrs predator, cause itīs not common here.

Heres something Interesting:
HBX EP Rocket Pro
1/10 brushless for under 200 quid infact Ive seen it for 159.99 somewhere, comes with everything including 2000mha nimh, granted you want a brushless really but still.
3600kv motor.

Anyone seen one of these? Might consider it.

Let's not forget about Team Academy!

They have a number of models ranging from beginner to competition in both 2wd and 4wd formats. A 4wd RTR is available with a G10 chassis for $200.

A 2wd truck is available in pro kit form and rtr from www.modelrec.com

That's a US distributor, but maybe there's someone across the pond...
