Gearing for an Ansmann Clash 15?

Got one of these little beauties, and I'm wondering what pinion I should stick in it - the 18T in there before got fairly hot with the kit pinion, so i reckon a 15T would cook with the same!

I had one of these 15t motors and they were not really very powerful (even in my lightweight TC). What car are you running it in?

I'm going to be running it in a DB01

It doesnt have much Torque so I would look at the ratio you want to run it at and then if you dont think the motor is getting up to speed, replace it with a smaller pinion.

If you are running it outside and bashing, it may be ok as the motor has much longer to get up to speed.

Infact tonight I might put my old 15t in my tamiya voltec and see what happens when I raace the TC's

Any ideas of what motor I would want with a balance between speed/torque, with a slight favouring of torque? Non-brushless at the moment, I can't afford that kind of money just now :)

Well, another cheap £7 motor melted, I'm looking for something a little nicer. I'm thinking of getting a LRP GT3 Turbo 17x2 and running it with a 21 tooth pinion, stock spur gear. Good idea?
