Team C TM2V2 alloy diff housing

Hi all,

I've heard there is someone who make a diff alloy housing for the tm2...
If you know who is he, tell me because i'm very interested :woot: !

Thanks for all

I did see some pictures a couple of years back of an aluminium casing for the 1/8 scale cars but I don't know if it came to fruition. That was driven by the fact that the IC cars were melting the plastic ones. They were in Australia btw. Everything melts there, including the people!

It can be done but I'm fairly sure that your interest will vanish like mist in the sun once you find out how much it would cost!

Have you got approx an idea of how many it could cost ?

Hmm.............

It is the couple of months of design time that nobody wants to pay for! My repeat manufacturing cost might be in the order of £100. Design, say £250.

The other gearboxes that I have made were made because I wanted one. Then I made copies for other people. This is different as I have no interest in the TM2.

I would also point out that I wouldn't make a direct copy. I would need it to be split vertically along the centre line of the prop-shaft. I would also want to put an inspection plate on it so that you could see what you were doing whilst trying to set up those awful bevel gears! ;-)

Thanks to answer, in fact it's expensive :(...

It would be so cool to have, because the stock part isn't very reliable with the screws.

I will desesparetly continue with my f***ing plastic part :'(.

Thanks for all Clive ! ;)

Sorry about that mate.

It is very difficult to put a price on it. What would you charge for three months of your life? Especially when it is a finite and ever depleting commodity. ;-)

I would expect that an engineering company in the business of making parts to order would charge upwards of £50/hr for both the design and machining time. At the rates that I charge I couldn't even get my hair cut.

It is a different proposition if you can give me a list of twenty people who all want the same thing. And that will be a first time ever in the rc world!
