My new pred

Thought I'd post it here too as it's vintage!

So it landed today in a battered box (thanks Royal Mail) but the car was safe and sound inside despite there being no other packaging!

After talking to Matt (Dyna) looks like I've bagged a pre production car! Couldn't be more happier and unlike the last 2 preds I've had I think this will just live on the wall.

Where do you guys find this stuff? Is it other contacts that offer it to you. I assume it's not the usual well known auction sites etc..

You'll get locked up for that!

I know a guy that talks to all his old racer friends that don't anymore and picks up all sorts cheap

Candyman 13-01-2017 11:13 AM

I remember having one of these when I was young, I raced it for a while until I got sick of it breaking all the time.

Peakey 13-01-2017 01:14 PM

The rest of the parts arrived today, it was cheaper for him to send 2 parcels thus one must of missed the plane,

So does this date the car then?

Richard Weatherly said this about the serial numbers but I think he's a little hazy
I think I can remember - The code is quite simple. 2 means February, 102 means it was the second car built that month. 4 is 1994. Sometimes we swapped the number order around, but the coded principle was always the same.

Peakey 13-01-2017 11:17 PM

Just had some more on the serial numbers from the man himself.

The 2 means February. The 4 means 1994. 102 means it was the 2nd car made that month. (The middle numbers always started at 100) Some years, we swapped the end digits so that the month was at the end of the number and the years was at the beginning. Some years we also reversed the middle three numbers. It's simple when you know the code! I'm happy that all these years later no one figured it out. :)
