carbon fibre parts, shiney edges

I have 2 new buggies, and my OCD with wiring is rather all consuming LOL, but I love things neat and tidy,

my carisma GTB is all carbon and may get the treatment too LOL, so that 3 buggies to do :)

Ive seen carbon parts with shiney edges and as I appreciate and understand it must help with delamination etc, I mainly love it because it looks great.

is this hard and messy to do??

Thin CA glue, drop a bit on and roll it around the edges, repeat when dried for a better effect.

I do this with mine but in my experience it isn't particularly quick. Last time I did it, there were about 3/4 cycles of wet and dry / CA / repeat. Activator helps, but not for the last application as I've found it doesn't give a mirror finish. The main issue is that the carbon edges are porous and so a good few applications are needed to coat this before you can get onto making a nice finish.

Superglue on a cotton bud and wipe it around the edges. Works a treat and produces a nice finish. It may require a quick sand beforehand if the finish isnt already fairly smooth.

Dont get to close when doing it as it does produce some vapor, which can sting your eyes pretty bad!

When you sand the edges of the carbon fibre make sure you do it under a running tap or in water as you dont want to be breathing in any carbon.

i use clear nail varnish to seal c/f parts, nice and easy to apply with the little brush in the bottle.

I have only raced 30years and i have never done to the edges anything than sandpaper the edges.
800-1000 sandpaper and after that you have an good edge.
The only carbon i have had problem with is the ae tq10 chassis, or i think everyone had issues with it..

I too like shiny carbon. Here's a chassis and towers I have just completed for someone.
