SANWA RX-481 plugs really tight fit???

I'm new to sanwa, and i'm struggling to get the servo and esc plugs to fit into the RX.
Is there a common fix for this? so far i've been having to slightly taper the plugs with a blade to get them to fit, but i'm worried about bursting the RX housing, as the plugs are really really tight!
Ta

Yeah. I've recently switched to sanwa and found the same.
So far I've just pushed em in.
No issues so far. Except they are really tight........

Yeh, i've found that it really restricts where you can put the RX, as you need to be able to really get to it, and even get a screwdriver to it to prise the bloomin plugs out when you want to program the ESC or whatever.
I've ended up getting some extension cables so that I can leave them plugged in to the RX, but give me the ability to reprogram the ESC without risking tearing the wires out of the top of the plug!

RX481

HI
Yes they are REALLY fiddly I have managed to pull the wire out of the plug on my transponder when trying to switch it over quickly.

I have now just put a small piece of heatshrink over the end of the plastic part of the plug and going onto the wires, so the little bit you can manage to grab of the wire when pulled it is actually pulling the plug and not so much on the wire.

It's great not having an aerial but something had to give

LMAO:thumbsup:

You think all radio manufacturers would get together and design everything the same

cmgreen 02-12-2016 05:40 PM

Why?

Thats like asking all the car manufacturers to get together and make one car

Not even close. A more suitable analogy would be car manufacturs get together to design the fuel filler neck pipes, and they did...

Typical sanwa I'm afraid, they want you to use all sanwa kit. You'll find sanwa connectors blocks are slightly smaller than the industry standard JR connector.

Ahh
Didn't think of that, I use savox, orion & xpert so the plugs are a different size:o

I would have thought that they would at least keep the plug size as standard!!!

Sanwa plugs have always been pretty small, only by a tiny amount, but sometimes enough to be a problem. It takes a couple of minutes tops to scrape them with a blade so they are a nice fit. It's not something I've ever worried about - as I always rewire or shorten the leads anyway. So it's just the last step of my process!

Hi Tim,
As you have unanimously heard, the plug hole on Sanwa is smaller than the plug on a typical savox or xpert servo. Take care when pulling plug if you don't "shave it down" as I managed to pull the case of an rx471 once while changing my PT over and he plug got jammed

Guess I should get busy with a blade then!
