Questions associated RC10 b3/b4

HI everyone, can someone tell me what if any parts from the b4 will fit the b3. Mainly gears?

I'm just getting back into it :)

Any help is appreciated

Thanks.

if you still have a b3 park it up and save it as a vintage car parts are becoming more difficult to find now

things have moved on a lot brushless motors and lipo batteries etc not all will retro fit into older cars

if youre wanting to run b3 as a vintage fine I think gearbox is same as b4 and will retro fit

if your returning to racing off road visit your local club and get advice before spending hard earned cash

I will be running/racing this as normal 10.5 setup, I have lots of spares so to me it makes sense rather than buying new kit (car/spares)I know il need new esc, charger and lipo. It's 7 years since I raced mainly touring cars and buggy now and again. Regarding to the b4 gears for the b3 iv heard the b4 ones are better?

Thanks for the help

I'm with Dave on this. If you have a decent B3 leave it as a vintage racer.
They're nice to drive still, but simply not fast enough or tough enough to race amongst modern cars.
Also, very little fits from a b4 to a b3. Gearbox wise nothing but the topshaft to fit a more modern slipper BTW (different gear ratio, so both idler and diff are different size).

But it will be ok to run a 10.5T In it I remember people running mod motors in them and was fine, I'm not saying it's gonna be a world beater oviousley it's not, for me it's about getting back into the sport without spending loads. And if I decide to carry on then maby il buy something newer, as for parts thay are still available online some very cheap.

Charles has kindly corrected me on retro fitting parts

I cant see any problems with a 10.5 brushless should cope manfully

go for it and enjoy racing again nice to have a returning racer I have been at since 1990 ish and steadily getting worse

plenty of good advice on here

regards dave

I run a 10.5 in my B3. The transmission doesnt seem any more stressed then it used to be when I raced it back in the late 90's.

Ok guy's thanks for the advice/opinions, as for vintage racing it sounds good but for me it would be a waste to only use it a such events. I was not a bad driver back then tbh so I can only hope this will continue lol fingers crossed. Hopefully il see some of you track side I'm from Wigan so hopefully will go back to Southport in a few weeks and bury.
ps do thay still use transponders or do I need a personal one?
Can I still use my ko transmitter running crystals?

Thanks

Is it possible to put hex on the rear axles? So can use standard wheels?

Thanks

david85williams 14-12-2016 10:36 AM

Possibly... but the car will be very narrow as the B3 wheels have a large offset. You can still buy B3 wheels and also I believe the RC10 worlds rear wheels are the same.

Thanks dave il look at the world's wheels
