Choosing a low budget EP Buggy

Hi all,
This is my first post here, never had a off-road RC, but I have two on-roads.
I was planning to get an off-road RC to my girlfriend as a gift (she likes to drive my F103RM), but she said that off roading would be more fun.
I was planing to get a 2WD buggy, that comes dissasembled, as she likes to build thinks.
I'm planning to put a EZRun 3300kv brushless combo and use with 2s and 3s Lipo.
I already have this brushless system, the batteries, charger and radio.
I was looking for a kit under $150, thats my budge for this.
What you off-roaders suggest me? I don't have a clue, so I was thinking on the Tamiya DT02 MS that cost $130, is this a good deal?
Thanks in advance, cheers from Brazil!

Nobody?

Not many on this site will have run a Tamiya DT-02 - myself included.

From what I have heard, the DT-02 will never be a competitive off-road buggy, so going for the MS may be a waste. Your girlfriend will probably have just as much fun with one of the standard DT-02 chassis.

sosidge is right, if your after competing forget the dt-02.

But if your after a fun car to thrash around, you can't do much better. Pretty quick, easy to build, takes a lot of punsihment and a lot of fun.

I've had one for a couple of years and only broken the suspension arms and that was a pretty bad crash into a curb.
i say go for it and enjoy.
