Can i ask if the 10 comitee members will be contributing to race fees this winter? Ive noticed that members race fees have been raised.

Andy,

We will respond to your email in due course.

NeilRalph77 20-10-2016 12:56 PM

10!!! It wouldn't take many of them to be doing 2 classes for the club to be £££'s better off of a weekend, nevermind over a season maybe race fees could be charged at a lower rate or BRCA licence paid for if a cash incentive is needed. Out of curiousity who's on the committee?

Fees

Andy/Neil,

The AGM minutes forwarded to all members outline the clubs committee members.

I'm sure you and our members appreciate that the committee at the club are responsible for, not just holding our well regarded race meetings, but the many hours of hard work that goes on behind the scenes needed to maintain and develop the fantastic track and site, which our members enjoy.

I will apologise for the oversight on our part for the omission from this years AGM minutes, regarding the previously agreed decision by our members to provide free racing to those committed committee members in reward for their contribution to the club. This years AGM attendance was disappointing with none of our members attending. Now I could take that one of two ways, either none of our members are interested or that our members are very happy with our ongoing work and feel there is nothing to change, that is not already being considered and done. I choose to believe the latter. Furthermore, our members were all asked if they wanted to raise any maters then of course they could do so before the meeting, if they were unable to attend. Again, we received very few raised points, which I take as above.
I acknowledge that we should and will seek to obtain the views of our members on wether we should be granted this concession.

I personally race very rarely with work commitments, but the work I put in behind the scenes is considerable. The rest of the committee, who do race more regularly, I can vouch for the work they put in, and it is far more than the value of complimentary racing.

The size of our committee is necessary for many reasons, mainly; it represents the different classes of racers at the club, from the A down to me, It's old and young, experienced and up and coming, it's got varying skills and abilities and ultimately makes a great team. Our old friend Roger worked very hard to keep the club going, our committee is now working to move the club forwards and upwards, which is why we are now a National standard club.

I welcome all our members views, ideas and opinions provided they are constructive, considered and supportive.

Please message me directly if you wish to discuss any further off line.

Warmest regards

Darren

Very well said Darren, the work all you guys put in is appreciated which allows me and my two sons to race our toy cars. Unfortunately we live quite a way from the track or we would help out more. I have been involved helping previous clubs and the work which goes on to keep any club running is considerable and time consuming.

Long may it continue

Steve Taylor
