Wire for speedo

Can you rewire a speedo with 14 awg for a 1/10 buggy or will it not be suitable

What 10th scale buggy?

A 2wd running a 13.5 motor on dirt will be fine on 14 awg.
4wd running a 5.5 turn on astro will probably struggle. Better with 12 awg.
