problem is cars are older and spares not as easy to find

exception maybe mi1 ,thinks that's set for lipo though

sensible option is to allow brushless but limit motors to 21.5 and blinky esc and limit motor timing is cars still too fast ?difficult to police possibly

I know it's an old thread but for anyone else wanting to run a brushed motor in a modern TC look at BRP supastox motor mount, it's the kind of thing you will need
