Are all wheels equal?

Got loads of Kyosho wheels and expected them to slot directly onto a Yokomo Bmax

Shock horror the fronts fit and the rears don't (the kyosho wheels need a slightly wider hole to fit the 12mm hexes)

In short is it best to buy new wheels or just ream the middle

and also, what are the most 'universal wheels' these days? Schumachers

jconcepts monos for me

Deffo not all equal. I got loads of schumacher rears. Wony fiy my b5m's properly. You cant fullly tighten down the wheel nuts as theres some axle poking thru wheel.

Solution was wheel nuts in lathe and bore back out slightly lol

So it's seems that there is not a easy solution

I think I will just ream the hole a mm or two. Seems a shame that could not move to a universal standard. I guess though the manufacturers make a little money in having alight difference in axles and hexes.

Anyways thanks for the replies

Tony

What rear hubs do you have plastic or Alu

Schu wheels do fit I use pre glued pretty much every week on Alu 7mm spacers

Both me and my boy used pre glued on Sunday as well

Kyosho and X-ray wheels have a different offset to AE and Yokomo

I have schelle ally rear hubs

Its only about just sub 1mm of shaft that pokes thru. Could put washer on then nut and that sort it.

Not sure the width the shelle hubs are the kit 7mm Alu hubs allow the whe to be tightened with no washer

if you look at different makes you can get all sorts of offsets of 12mm hexes, from as little as 4mm up to the 10mm+ hpi truck ones. some wheels do need the centre hole enlarging slightly to fit things like the associated and losi imperial axles, not a big deal and easy to do. personally if the wheel is too thin for the axle, it gets a washer tucked inside
