Newbie

Hi all ,I'm new to the forum but not new to the world of rc cars , I used to race them back in the 90's and now looking at getting back into 1/10 racing .

I sold all my gear yrs ago but , I've always had model cars ,nothing that special at the moment ,original tamiya hornet , lunchbox ,tamiya tl01 and a hpi baja:thumbsup:

Roscopeco gave me the heads up on this great forum ,cheers Kev

Welcome back - I started again back in March after last racing 1/10th electric regularly back in the 90s!

You've had a RS1600i in the past as well I think ;-) recognise your username from the RSOC web site I think:thumbsup:

Welcome along Kev :)

Welcome. I recognise your username from Passion ford and the S1 forum.

I've had my fair share of Cosworths and RS Turbos too!

Nick are you the chap that gave me advice on Passionford a while ago ?

Quite possibly. I had a S1 on Rondells if that jogs any memory's for you? And a white Escort Cosworth.

Roscopeco 15-07-2016 02:58 PM

The car doesn't but I have a s1 , there was a tamiya Cosworth thread and we all commented on it with our own RC cars :)

Oh bloody hell yes I remember that car from the s1 forum very well !! I think I even tried to buy your wheels once .

Here's mine

I've not even lifted the cover on it for nearly a year ...... Interest is at an all time low :(

Haha I got like that and sold up, loosing garage space was a contributing factor! Good to see you on here though and the S1 looks great, give me a heads up if you get an urge to sell the RS. I'm always looking for an excuse for another garage ornament!

Roscopeco 15-07-2016 03:32 PM

I get the urge to sell it all the time but whether I actually will or not is another matter haha

Kev's got a lovely RS1600i with a turbo conversion ..... My ideal mk3 escort

I think the RS1600i is the better looking of the two mk3 RS's

Rs fruitbat 15-07-2016 05:38 PM

Haha , bloody hell , yeah I still have my Rs16i ,I haven't touched it for 3yrs it's just sat in the carcoon , I know it's wasted sat there but free time is very limited ,if I start racing which I'm more than likely too the 16i will take more of a back seat , good too see some rs boys on here

Yes, but unfortunately it has been sat in storage since 2003 so needs restoration now :( Never seem to have the time or money, I guess it is the usual story for most :-s

I've owned mine since I was 20, i'm 37 now so, bit of a bind to get rid of it as a result. Its like a time capsule from my youth!
