esc
i upgraded my tekin rx8 from my shortcourse truck and replaced it with the corally revoc esc... no regrets for sure, ran it at the sct nationals last weekend and it was superb, its all metal casing, no plastic, rock solid and less expensive to buy. you need the program box to change the settings and i think theres a wifi dongle in the pipeline for it :-)

Ran for the first time this evening (cerix pro 160). A lot smoother than the Vampire setup I had before with more progressive power. Motor stayed cool too. Nice that the capacitors are in build too so you do not need to house them somewhere. With the setup box there are lots of setting to play with. Would recommend getting the setup box if you are getting one.

I've moved over from Tekin to Corally in both my buggies and I am really impressed. They are very smooth, they run very cool and have really good brakes. Would recommend to anyone who is considering them.

Can anyone compair them to a hobbywing V3.1 for brakes and power.

Program box
Does anyone know where the program box can be bought from, preferably UK retailer
Cheers |
I am sure Kev Lee at Inside Line would be able to get one.

Previous program boxes I've had have connected to esc thru receiver wire, Corally fails to connect this way Thanks |
You connect the Smart Box with the supplied lead straight into the 3 pin port on the Cerix or Revoc ESC's

connecting program box
Are you supposed to get the lead supplied with the program box or the esc ?
I had no lead with the program box, which was brand new, the esc i bought off a fellow club member and he did not include any leads for connecting the program box. cheers |
it comes with the speedo.

Cooling Fans for cerix pro 160
Hi, can anyone confirm which cooling fans are compatible with this esc using the onboard plug.
Have tried muchmore racing but they have +ve and -ve wired in reverse. Assume the Core RC fans will work but nowhere has these in stock What about Nosram / WTF or Orca thanks |
i use either the kit one or a WTF fan on mine.
you are correct that the plug seems to be the wrong way around. so on my WTF fan, i swapped the wires around in the plug - its easy to do with a knife as long as you are careful. as long as you get one that is the right size - 25mm - with the right plug, and make sure to check the polarity before you plug it in (not after, which was the first time i used a WTF fan. oops) you'll be fine. |
