Using a modern Schumacher slipper on a Cougar 2000 gearbox :)

Hi

Just wondering whether someone knows of anyone creating a custom layshaft for a Cougar 2000 to run a modern slipper clutch assembly off a SV2/KF? Bit worried the original assembly cannot take the torque of a modern 8.5t motor...

Thanks :)

Adrian

If it runs the same plates as the old Bosscat ones it will be fine

Yes, its the same I think, I don't think Schumacher pre the SV era onwards changed their slipper.

I think I would prefer to run the original slipper as I have managed to melt a spur gear on the SV2..

Cheers :)

That's why you need the bearing in the middle rather than the bush
