Neat and tidy

Last night I had a spare hour in between sorting the kids out, so decided that I'd re-wire the Cat, and put my new motor in.

What do you think? i know someone was asking what people did with their speedo and servo wires. as you can see, i've cable tied mine to the top deck....just hope it doesn't snap like it used to on the Mi3's.

:)

Very Nice.

Stupid question, but what is the red box between the ESC and receiver? And will I need one of those if I am going to race?

It's PT or Personal Transponder. It's device which emits waves that are detected by loop conected to pc. What is it good for? Lap counting.
I don't know how it's in UK, but if club has PTs for lend then you don't need your own, otherwise you have to buy it.

It's a personal transponder (PT). You don't need one as your local club should have transponders that racers can use and return (they're packaged differently so you typically secure them to the body or wing) - a PT is a convenience item really.

Nice work Tel!

Thanks, I don't normally take much time and care on the wiring, but with the layout of the Cat, I think its needs some time spent on it to navigate your way around the belts, so that nothing rubs.

JackWood 15-01-2009 01:43 PM

Thanks.

How much do they cost, the PTs?

I can't quite believe the prices, i swear i only paid £65 when i bought mine.

Bungleaio 15-01-2009 01:58 PM

Wiring looks really good mate, I always aim to have it as tidy as I can but it always looks a right mess.

I'm sure I only paid £65 for mine too! How can they justify charging £95? I wouldn't be without mine though and I've just sent mine to MRT to be cloned so I don't have to keep moving it between cars.

Our club bought a bulk load a couple of years ago and i think it worked out about £56 but £94.30 for a single unit:cry: MRT will be doing some good business:D

blitzboy 15-01-2009 03:08 PM

£95!!!!!:o

Daylight robbery!!

Look on ebay. theres usually some on there. thats where I got mine from £35. I've got a spare one if you're interested JW?

JackWood 16-01-2009 08:26 AM

Cheers Tel. Don't think I'm ready for one just yet :) But if I change my mind and start to race sooner rather than later, then I'll drop you a PM.

Call me stupid, but why would you pay £95 for a AMB one when an MRT one is £41??

Southwell 16-01-2009 08:28 AM

Because MRT ones are 1-20 and you need an AMB one with a registered number before MRT can clone it.

lochness42 16-01-2009 09:32 AM

MRT does also version without cloned number and then you've got selection of 10 or 20 numbers (depending on version you buy).

:)

Is that a special corrally?? as it looks like the cable is at 90 degrees to the tube, if that makes sense..

If it is , where do you get them from??

Colinevan 17-01-2009 09:23 PM

Seen on the black negative lead coming from the Lipo.

Cassp0nk 17-01-2009 09:30 PM

M-K racing sell gold plated schumacher corrallys that have a whole in the side of the solder cup so you can have the wires going in sideways or from the top.

telboy 17-01-2009 11:57 PM

Yep, Schumi part number G796.
Comes in very hand with Lipo's.
