Can you fit a taller arm? |

Thanks for the reply folks. Looks like I'll be looking for a new servo then! I could possibly fit a taller servo saver/arm but I'm not sure what's out there. Currently I'm using the kit one.
What servos are you guys using for touring cars? |
Current Trend seems to be xpert servos.
Sanwa, KO & Futaba have always been reliable. All depends on pocket size. This might be worth a try.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANSSHSS25-...8AAOSwstxU7glU Measure yours and get the one which is just a bit bigger. |
I have the same servo in 2 t4's a t3 and an M05 never had an issue and mostly reduce the EPA depending on track conditions, that's not to say yours isn't faulty

I'm running a TRF419 and I'm using as per kit/instructions. My Futaba 4PX is set to 140% and the steering is still shocking! I see a lot of servos specs stating 60o, does that mean degrees? So should I not be looking for a servo to turn more? |
Its the servo, common problem, use ko or sanwa;)

Is it a new servo?
Take the servo out of the car get a protractor and measure it's full lock angle it should be 60* ish, if not it must be faulty or there is a setting in your handset that needs adjusting. There was a guy at our club who complained about the same thing as it turned out he had added another model to his Sanwa handset and it defaulted the EPA to 100% from 150%. |
I think 60% travel or sweep is industry std for specifications of servos
yes you can "overdrive" servo's to give more travel ko radios as well as "full lock/EPA/Travel adjustment there is another menu called "steering balance" when setting a model this defaults to 70% left and right so even if you are set at 140% travel you only get 70% of that 140% (if that makes sense!!) I know you run futaba do they have a similar function?? I remember struggling to get fulllock on a 416WE/X Tamiya what ever servo I used regards dave |
It's the servo, I had the same problem on my touring car.
The best option is to try another servo. You can increase the servo travel by adding resistors to the potentiometer in the servo but it is very fiddly. I did it to my servo and I've never had any problems. For instructions google how to increase servo travel. I don't recommend this unless you're good at soldering and have a small soldering iron as you could kill the servo |
