B-Max4 lipo set up

Hi Guys,

I ran my Yoke at Kidderminster yesterday, the track is mainly astro-turf with a few concrete and dirt sections. The track was fairly damp with traction and grip levels fairly low.

It was my first time using the car with LiPo batteries in it, I had borrowed a pack of 4800 cells just to test the car with them in. The car was very impressive with LiPo's fitted and it gave us the opportunity to try a few things that we hadn't done previously on the car. We finished up with the set up as noted on the below attachment, hope it has worked ok. The car was very very good like this...

thank you very much for your setup sheet TOM. Did you already make some test on carpet? if yes do you have a set up sheet also?

I haven't done much carpet racing with the car, up to now I don't really have a setting that I would recommend for the car on that surface but as soon as I do get chance to do some carpet racing I will post something.

Thanks

Speedworm, I ran a similar setup to Tom's posted sheet on carpet but with 1.4 rear roll bar, 1.2 front bar, and 40wt all round. It was very fast (1/2sec sec per lap quicker than my Bx worlds, on a short track) but very difficult to drive, I think as the springing was too soft for high grip (I was using same sprngs Tom ran at the weekend at Kiddy). I was using 3200 Lipo and no weight.

Don't know if that helps (I'm nowhere near as good at setup or driving as Tom), but like I say it was quick enough! I'd just go harder to make it a little easier to drive, on high traction surfaces I have found it a compromise between soft enough at the back to cope with low weight Lipo, but not so soft it pitches too much.

Tom did you run any extra weight in the car cheers. Your car looked the dogs on Sunday, both me and Chris where well pleased with our B-Max on Sunday fantastic car.

Hey Spence,

No I didn't use any additional weight in the car... I don't know how much the car is weighing in at with LiPo in but I doubt very much that it is near the minimum!
