BMax4 111 - pinion size

what size pinion would be suitable for a 8.5T Speed Passion motor, e.g at Kiddy on Astro?

Try a 22 and go from there.

Is that a B-Max2 ver.3 or a B-Max4 III? In case it is the 2WD car I'd say use a 25t together with the 80t spur gear that comes in the kit. IIRC Yokomo included a 25t pinion with the original B-Max2 and recommended it for a 7.5 turn motor. It worked pretty well on any kind of track in mine back in the day paired with a Thunder Power 8.5.

What size spur are you using? 84?

toooldskool 08-03-2016 09:48 PM

Yes 84

Those using the 84 spur, is it the white one. Do ppl find them less durable than the 87 for mod?

Yes, the white spurs are softer then the black spurs. Tried a white one once, destroyed it in 1 pack...

You are just too fast DH :p

Go for 21 or 22 depending on the timing you may have added.

Hi All,

Sorry to hijack but starting a new thread seemed a waste, I am going to be running a BMAX4 iii in an indoor endurance race. Thinking of using a 10.5t with maybe a little turbo at the top end to get down the straight a bit quicker but of more consideration is keeping temps low as the race is 2hrs24mins. Does anyone have any recommendations for pinion and am I thinking along the right lines going for a higher turn motor?

Thanks
Daz
