Just after some advice on what the neatest shock protectors are, where to get them, and whether there are any common diy options??

Search front shock tower protector on Ebay, should bring up a robust lexan one, been using them for a bit now and they are solid, very good indeed!

I bought an A4 piece of 2mm thick lexan of ebay. I bent it over a piece of 1" wood using a hot air gun and a piece of metal. They look great and cost me £3.50 and so far I have made 3 and still got 3/4 sheet left.

Shock tower protectors

Hi, I am selling these both here and eBay (cheaper via oople)
They are made oversized so allow for many different fixings and then trim down to as small as you need it.

Lots of people ran them at the BWOC at Silverstone over the weekend and nobody reported a damaged or broken one.

I make my own from old associated shock oil bottles.
1 bottle will make 3.

Very easy to cut out, and get the right shape, if you have a spare lexan wing...!
Lots of people use this method..

How would either of these options go on a carisma GT14B buggy? Would they be too large to use?

Yes unfortunately they have to be sent as a small parcel due to the size, they're 3mm to big to fit through the slot for large letter at the post office:(. Postage cost is actually £3.90 but Im still only charging £3.30 :eh?:.

Just as an enquiry I asked at my post office what postage would be to Aus, I was told £4.60 untracked or £9.70 signed for:drool::drool::drool:

So if you buy via oople they're much cheaper for you:thumbsup::woot:

Adam F 11-02-2016 07:40 PM

He used to supply Silverstone, not sure if he still does.

Been a long time since I raced but what exactly is the point of these?

Monkeysmate 27-02-2016 04:30 PM

they're to save indoor carpet from getting torn by the front shocks/shock towers when the car end up on it's roof...
