Front spool clicker on Yz4

Can someone please explain what the clicker does?

The instructions are not clear and this is my first 4wd buggy

It's all about full-time 4WD vs allowing the front wheels to spin, take a look at this, not the same car obviously but the idea is the same.

Tighter = more braking
