losi 22 3.0 in low grip......Any good??
 

Seriously considering getting rid of my kf2. Car is Brilliant in high grip but can never find grip even with mid conversion when the grip is low
Has anyone ran this new losi outdoors yet in slippy conditions.if so is it worth me getting one as i do race outdoors mostly and its very rare that due to our poor weather climate the majority of the time the grip is only medium to low.
Im sure id benefit better with a proper mid car ....thanks

I've not driven on but seeing them on greasy astro and my club they have loads of rear grip, for a 2wd.

I'm like you and want rear end grip, but I've managed to find enough with my KF2. I think the 22 3.0 makes a great winter 2wd car.

Rear/Mid Motor setup.

20 grams of weight just in front of rear bulkhead either side of belt.
2mm spacers under rear turnbuckle ball studs.
Lower Pivot blocks moved up to higher position.
400 oil front, 300 oil rear.
Red springs front, white springs rear.
SWB
4mm deg toe in on rear.
21t And 35t Low inertia side gears.
19mm ride height.

That should do it.

I'm thinking the best thing to do is get 2 cars off of the same platform, one with 4 gear mid layout and one with 3 gear laydown layout.. That might be possible with the Losi soon maybe? Not convinced 3 gear upright has a place in Europe, surely on damp astro you'd just go 4 gear mid?

The tlr 22 3.0 has a stupid amount of grip and drive in the damp on greasy astro. Never driven a 2wd like it. You can drive it so aggressively in the wet its a bit surreal. I have got the 4 gear box but havent found the need to bolt it in yet. You will be very surprised just how good it is in thise conditions

I assume that was with ballistic greens onthe rear and fronts were??
Which track also ?
Is that the first time out in the damp astro..

Ran my 3.0 at stotfold in the slippy astro, 3gear with mostly kit set up, changed the links front and rear, pistons and oils and wheelbase. It was easy to drive, had loads of entry steering, lacked a bit of rear end, diff'ed out a couple of times but ultimately it was driveable and fast. I'm sure with the 4 gear it'll have loads of grip

Bill fletcher (TLR) ran this eve at martime on low grip wood and low grip carpet and his car was pretty good it was comparable to the b5m and rb6 the true is he kick out buts

It was bb green spikes on the back and bb green ribs on the front at Coastal in ipswich. It was the first time on the wet astro but raced init a few times now. Cars got better every time. Its also been great indoors on carpet.
