WRC Rally Ireland R/C demo
 
Anyone on the forum going to this??

Rally Ireland Demo 2009
Failte Ireland has approached the Dublin Model Car Club to look at showcasing R/C racing at the upcoming Rally Ireland, the opening round of the 2009 World Rally Championship. Sligo town is running a festival in conjunction with the rally which is where the R/C demo will take place on Saturday 31st January. This event is open to all RC classes and not just ORCA members, so if you’re interested or know of other clubs or racers who would like to take part please pass on details. Participation in this event is crucial to its running so everyone’s support is appreciated.
A Track Area of approx 50mx40m with the width of the track of 4m approx for each lane. Places in 1/10 electric Touring car. 1/10 Nitro Touring, Electric Off-Road, 1/8 On-Road and 1/8 Off-road are still avalible. Maximum of 2 classes per Driver.

Is that 1/8th buggies or is it 1/8th scale anything?

"1/8 off road" - sounds like buggies to me. Probably 1/8 nitro only, but not sure. It's a demonstration fun day after all.

I'm not racing there as I'll be photographing at the rally itself.

Due to the lack of confirmed entries this event had to be canceled.

That's a shame it was cancelled, it would of been a good way to promote RC racing in Ireland as a whole. I would of loved to have gone but I would be busy on the actual stages photographing.
