B5m laydown?

Hi,

I've bought an b5m lite a couple a months ago and some of my club racers have bought an xray xb2.
I have bought some spare parts and some options to my car.
But know in wondering what is smartest, buy a laydown tranny to my b5m or sell everything and buy a xray.

I'll run carpet and astro

Hi Antepop and welcome

Question like this probably better in the team associated forum as you'll find more B5m specialists there...BUT

There's a cheap laydown option on shapeways.com (search b5m) if you want to convert, especially as you have spares etc. One thing you still won't be able to do is move the rear shocks to the front of the rear arms, which you can on the XB2 and Yokomo YZ2, which for me are the best laydown cars at the moment.

I've got a B5m with the original 4 gear transmission (and like you a ton of spares etc) and am waiting to see what associated do next...the american forums say they won't do a laydown version of the car, but they've apparently already discontinued the 'champions edition' so something else must be coming.

One thing I would suggest it to assess how good you currently are? If you're new to it all another 'hop up' probably won't make that much difference. If you're front running and doing 5 minute heats with no crashes then of course it's worth considering.

Hope this helps!
