transponders... MRT or myLaps?
Would anyone be able to educate me as to the difference between the mylaps RC4 hybrid transponder and the MRT mPTX Pro transponder?

As far as I know, there's no worries about them being RC4 and backwards compatable.
so erm.... one is black, one is red one costs more (check out MRT FB page for weekly discount offers!) |
Just to add, although the newer MRT transponder now works with RC4 systems. It is not "supported" by some BRCA national events. What this means is, yes it will count your times, but if you have any issues like missed laps (quite unlikely) etc. some sections will blame your transponder and may not award you any missed time, even if its clear as day you missed a lap.
For this reason, i use AMB for nationals, and MRT for everything else |
New RC4 compatible MRTs are fantastic. Lead replaceability is a bonus, as its the weak point on the Harry.

I agree with Neal.......
...... and this guy does too and he uses MRT PTX (old style) and he seems to do ok with it. http://eos.redrc.net/wp-content/uplo...01/lee_CF2.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-urneBE_1Aw...15840686_o.jpg |
Just remember at Batley an AMB RC4 (3 wires) will not work. Our decoder is an RC2, so you need either the MRT or a 2 wire AMB unit
