2.4 ghz wheel transmitter
 

Looking for a half decent 2.4 ghz wheel transmitter for my little girl, as I use sticks I'm a bit out of touch with what's good value for money. No real budget limitations just want some Oople forum feedback.

I've just recently bought a Sanwa MT4 from SMD (the distributor) as it was only £150 (£50 cheaper than the shops I looked at). It's a nice bit of kit and I highly recommend it.

The spectrum dx4's look good value, a few of the 'wheel weirdos' use them at Southport.

sanwa stuff definitely good stuff

if your daughter just wants to learn and "play" any thing will suffice
if she can already drive and is hooked into r/C buy decent stuff to start

spektrum is decent enough and bargains can be found I have lots of it modules in other radios and dx4c too

I run the Sanwa MT4-S, blows everything I've used before out the water. Bit hard to get for a decent price in the UK though, but the standard MT4 would be more than sufficient for someone learning. In terms of price point and overall quality/ergonomics, I don't think there's a better option.

What's the difference between the MT4 and the S?

The S is essentially an M12 packaged as an MT4, minus a few adjustability features - they really aren't anything that you would be desperate for anyway, even if you were a pro. The standard MT4 has about double the latency of the S, but it's still much better than what you'd find in a budget radio. It also comes without a backlit screen, which is a turn-off for some.

If budget is no issue, then the S is very much worth getting over the standard MT4. It's a pro spec radio at about 3/4, maybe even half the price of the competition. It's just a case of whether you would consider spending the extra £200 or so on bumping up to the M12, because even though it is the flagship of the Sanwa range, the extra features it offers over the MT4-S aren't likely to be used by anyone other than professionals.

I have a standard MT4 that I will be putting up for sale later. As just got myself an m12. Will come with a carry case and lipo but no receiver as still using in my cars.
