Thought's on 1/8 scale electric buggies and Tamiya.

It's no secret that 1/8 electric buggies are on their way and soon to become a class of their own, but i just wanted to hear some of your guy's opinions regarding 1/8 scale electric buggy racing in general. Also does anyone know or have an idea if Tamiya has something in the works for this new class? I would love to see them release a mid level to high end 1/8 electric buggy. Thought's on this guy's? Thanks.

Tamiya (USA) have said that they are developing a 1/8th buggy.

That's what im talking about!! Where did you hear this news from if you don't mind me asking?

It was on one of the sights. they have also got some successful 1/8 buggy drivers to become tamiya racers (i dont know there names)

Not to sound like a dickhead or anything, but i won't believe what you say until i see it with my own eyes. I have done google searches and when i type in tamiya 1/8 electric, my thread here on oople pops up as the first result. Just saying.:p

As far as I've heard Tamiya are working on an 8th gas buggy, not an 8th electric. This come from David Jun in a mag article about the TRF801XT, but nothing official. Also Jimmy Jacobson hinted to waiting and seeing with regards to an 8th gas buggy on another forum. Ryan Lutz moved from Kyosho (Team Manager and racer) to Tamiya. To me they are trying their toes in the nitro offroad scene with a small team but good team. Electric 8th? Convert the Truggy or the buggy if we see one.
Cheers All

Yeah, its nitro. Sorry I didnt think it matters as Nitro could be replaced withte 1/8th brushless conversion.
