Base settings on an engine
How would you revert to base settings on an engine?
For example would you work from the carb fully closed up with the screw and unwind "X" amount of turns to get the base setting Any help would be great. Thanks |
Genarlly if a setting states "3.5 turns" you would close the needle all the way without putting excess load on and then count the turns outwards from there.
To be honest it will only give you an approximation as air density, fuel, filter type and several other factors will influence the setting. If it is a "factory" needle setting it is likely for break in and will be on the rich side.. |
Thanks Pete :D

some manufactures will have it on thier site, i know nova rossi do!

neede setting
hi garry. what car you trying to setup mate?
I know that on my baja 5b the low needle is 1.5 turns and the high needle is 2 full turns. the centre air screw it just under 2 full turns. |
Its my Novarossi engine in my Losi 8ight..
Ive looked on the Novarossi site after following Mark's response and it states to fully wind the needle in and open it out 4.5 turns on the high speed needle which ive done to achive the basi setting on the carb. Says on there it maybe rich, but i'll work from there on and see were to take it... http://www.novarossi.com/content_uk/...t/plus21-5.htm |
