Timing explanation please, what how why?

Hi all,

A newbie question!

What is motor timing all about on brushless motors? how do i use it, why should I use it, When should i use it? what does it do?

Sorry for all the questions, hopefully somebody will be able to explain it to me.

Thanks in advance

I would just like to add to that explanatory precis in that if you are racing with your esc in 'blinky' mode that is the only timing adjustment available to you, therefore you can use the majority of the end bell adjustment to achieve the power level required within the motors heat limit restriction.

If however you are using timing boost on your esc, the boost timing set on your esc must be added to the end bell timing setting, the combined value must stay within the motor limits or you will soon destroy the stator!!!
