Savox 1257 safe to use at Lipo voltage?

I'm just looking for a yes or no really, I've got a Savox 1257 in my car now, Savox produce high voltage servos but the 1257 isn't one of them, I use lipos and my receiver is a straight through for servo voltage, is this safe? If not what do I need to add to make it safe?

what car is it? I use a 1257 and a 1258 and a 1251 in my 1:10 buggies using 2s lipos and all is fine

It's an SV2, but it's just the voltage I'm concerned with it's in and functioning fantastically.

are you using a seperate lipo to power receiver ?
I am assuming in a cougar SV your running an ESC to power motor, which "steps down" the voltage from main lipo to an accepatable voltage to supply receiver

if thats the case its fine if you use a sepearte "7.4v rx lipo" you need to make sure rx is capable of 7.4v aswell as servo or you may run into trouble longterm

No its running through an LRP spin or flow I forget which, does it definitely step it down then?

Yup in the old days it was called a BEC or battery elimination circuit all part of the esc wizardry.
your lrp will step voltage down to around 6v to power servo and receiver it will all be fine:D

Awesome thanks!

it's only really with 8th nitro you need to be aware of using the right servo and battery combo
