very cool. i had a motor company BIGBLOCK MOTORS. I made them out of my house for about 5 years. I still run what i made! anyway, when brushless motors started to come out i wisely got out of it. In dirt brushed motors are just fine, i don't mind cutting a comm every now and then. I just finished 3rd with a 10x1 in my xx4 on sat.

Brushless are actually a bit easier to wind than brushed motors, but don't benefit quite as significantly from perfect hand windings. Still not too hard to do though.

A TON of plane guys rewind their brushless outrunners.

I actually thought about rewinding my Novak...

actually i'm racing with my handwounded sp 7T delta, is faster than any 3.5r, i have one motor to repair, i promise a post to explain what i make.:thumbsup:

What is there to gain by doing this? ...

Surely to god somthing thats made and tested electonically with set draw / timing levels by the manufacturer is pretty rock solid?

I have heard that some of the stuff top level TC racers have products that are supirior the off shelf items that may have been tamperd with?

Seems a little bit pointless to faff around, after all are they even legal if they have been "Tamperd with"? :confused:

My Novak wouldn't be hard to rewind at all, there are actually teeth on the stator (a rarity in inrunners).

I would assume that a lot of other companies making inrunners for cars make their stators the same way. The only problem I see is getting the rear endbell off the Novak. I think it's a friction fit over the stator, and a tight one at that.
