Yz2 spur gear cover
I've noticed a few cars at Euros appear to be YZ2 but with a cover for slipper. Does anyone know what this part is as I have a real problem with sand getting into my pinion teeth on the astro at Batley. Would love a gear cover...
Many thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions |
It's a different gear box and rear tower that they are running at the euros mate for low grip. It looks like a BMAX2 box and rear tower, but maybe also a prototype. But I'm sure we will find out more as the week goes on.
Cheers Chris |
I'm going down for a spot of spectation tomorrow, I'll see what I can find out - don't think it was the best idea leaving the slipper open!

I did only one meet on my car on astro, the spur and pinion really took a beating TBH!

Cheers. Would have gone myself but on hols at moment
Any solution sounds good! |
They do look to be using Bmax Transmission as far as i can see?

Allan said he has put a bmax2 rear end on his car, for the clay.
|
Yes, it's a bmax2 gearbox and tower. It's a straight fit apart from two holes for motor guard.

Most team drivers are indeed running B-Max2 gearboxes, it will move the motor a bit backwards. Some are running standard YZ2 gearboxes.

TBH im getting confused looking as there is a YZ2 clone out there too, its called an Xray hehe!
Great footage though from RHR, wished i could have gone down to watch! lee |

bmax2 rearend on a yz2?....
why not just run a bmax2? |
YZ2 still has a better and more aggressive rear end possibly, does seem odd, but thats the only thing i can think of?
Lee |
YZ2 front end definitely has more steering than the BMAX2 I would imagine that's why they are running it
|
has anyone here tried the Frankenstein yokomo yet and can give details on handling?
|
Expect a Bmax2 with a ton of steering.

Whist a few are running regular YZ-2 cars, Lee, Tom, Mark, Allan and Freddy were running the YZ-2 chassis with the bmax2 gearbox and shock tower bolted right on. Those extra holes now have a purpose.
Two additional holes need to be drilled for the brace/battery upright in front of the motor, and an extended battery holder is needed. Looks really tidy and the team cars were the best handling round the track for sure. Results speak for themselves. |
