Car stand
So I don't know if I should post this in this section? But hey I'm proud of what I've made and want to share,
So my problem was that I have x2 buggys on the shelf above the fridge, they didn't quite fit on the shelf and because they were up high you couldn't see them overly well, http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psde2sfuuj.jpg So i decided to make a pair of matching stands to tilt them and make them look more appealing. As it was an experiment, I didn't want to spend much. I made the plates myself and got a couple of ball head camera mounts from hong kong for less than £5! I soon realised that I needed some nuts and bolts to mount the plates to the mount. I got some 1/4 UNC countersunk screws and nuts from eBay and I also picked up some self adhesive rubber feet. I made the plates up from some scrap metal and welded a UNC nut onto the base of the car support plate, I also countersunk the plate for the countersunk screw to sit flush in, Anyway enough talking, let me post my pics, http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psjgouhf7m.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psc6wfxm5x.jpg And my buggys on the shelf...... http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/j...psi2hwuiy6.jpg |
Mmm very nice!
How many partners would let that happen in their kitchen I wonder, perhaps a poll to see would be interesting. |
Ha, She is very understanding, well not really, probably more 'tolerant'
I thought about making some shallow boxes with glass lids to hang my cars in in the hall, like picture frames but deeper. But in the end I decided the boxes would stand too proud, and when I wanted to get the cars out it would be a hassle. Not only would it be a hassle but non of my cars have good enough body shells to be proudly displayed. In the kitchen the cars fill a dead space, in the hall i'd have to move some family photos, so my wife probably wouldn't be as tolerant! |
lucky sod, mine wont even let cars in the house let alone the kitchen!!

Those are actually pretty awesome man, could be a good work stand too with some clamps and a taller post so it can be tilted over further.

Really simple and cool
Nice:thumbsup: |

I am allowed my original optima on the shelf of my office, but all other RC stuff stays "out of sight, out of mind" Mind you, I think these stands would do my old Optima proud. Good efforts!! |
