Why are hauler bags so expensive?

Or to be more accurate, why do they have to be? I understand that a lot are made, then brand logo's added so kit manufacturers get their cut, then retailers get their piece on top. But daaaamn they are expensive for what they are. I need at least 3 large ones and simply cannot justify spending that kind of money. Its the kind of item I wont risk buying second hand, despite the good private sellers here.
They need to be half the price they sell for. I have seen tool chests and storage boxes at much more reasonable prices, the problem is they just don't feel quite right.
Maybe there is a business opportunity here, I'd love to design an affordable hauling rig, maybe modular, that has the options myself and other people would want. Heck the kit manufacturers could just have a Velcro patch for the front to keep costs down.
Sorry if this seems like a whiny post, just dislike unnecessary overspending.

I agree, i would like to buy the racers edge (i think its called that) two tier bag thats good to carry a box of spares, set of wheels with tyres, and tools, transmitter and charger, problem is its a daft cost to get it shipped here, but easier to lug around and less prone to go to ruin which these big haulers tend to do in a short time, which is a pain.

Essential expense?

Couldn't agree more guys, I have the Fastrax Mega Hauler, brilliant at what it does and a 'steal' at £110ish, yes I did cough at that but when you consider it carries £2500ish worth when fully laden, then it brings it into context somewhat!

Not just haulers!

A new 2/3ch stick radio costs around £400. I have just bought a 6ch stick radio for my Quad for £150 and it speaks to you!!
