Classic style bodies.
Hello all.
i have started making my own bodies for my cars, as I am not a fan of the cab forward craze that seems to be the current default for manufacturers. Although Schumacher are not too bad in this regard, I have started with what I run. So, I thought I'd post them up and see if there would be any demand for them. First one is a rear cab version for the K1 i'm dubbing the "Viper" http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...719_133026.jpg http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...719_133049.jpg This had decent room for wiring, and I added extra depth at the front around the chassis so it fits better. this is designed to use the standard body mounts. Currently I'm working on a more traditional CAT/Cougar body for the K2R and K2F, and I will try to work that design for the K1 as well. Will post more soon. |
Bravo
I don't run Schumacher cars, but also don't like the cab forward designs. Good luck with the venture as I think they look great |
Thanks mate! there are a few Yokes around here, so if I get my hands on one to measure up I'll be thinking about something for them too.

I like the look of that.

any chance you could do a slightly wider cat sx3 body for the k1 ? the front on the k1 is a little wider than the sx3

Hmmm, yes have been thinking about something similar. A sleeker mid cab body is definitely on the cards. Biggest problems with the K1 is clearance for the motor and steering servo/horn. It really limits what you can do.

Better get that CAT body to you!

KF2 body
This is my new Cougar KF2 body, based on the look of the Cougar 2 but fits KF and KF2 models. You do need to drill the shock tower to fit a body mount. works with rear mounted shock tower also. Suits low grip and front motor mounts, I will modify for the MM soon or if I get a request.
Let me know if you like it. http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...821_131643.jpg http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...821_131608.jpg |
Another one I've knocked up. Based on pics of a late '80s CAT but for the KR as the chassis shape is similar.

Awsome
AWSOME

Thanks mate! Working on some driver figure molds to finish them off, as well as some retro style wings!

They look brilliant. I think an old school YZ-870c style shell for the YZ-4 would be fantastic. I'd certainly run those.

Thanks Isobarik.
Updated the KF2 shell for the Mid motor conversion. This allows the speedie to be located in the rear r/h chassis on it's side, and the vents flow around this area and onto the slipper on the other side which is nice:D http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...w%20KF2m_1.jpg http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/z...w%20KF2m_2.jpg |
Really great work Maskellator!
The first one, for K1, is absolutly magic! Bat'style! |
