RC10 box art project
Finally decided to bring to light the complete box of parts I've been accumulating since 2009 and started tearing some old plastic bags. Worked a bit on the front end and still debating whether I should modify the front kick up, have the motor plate back holes filled and everything re-anodized the same color including the front shock collars. We'll see, I think I'll assemble the whole car first and maybe do that at a later stage.

They are much brighter. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psqr6r7syw.jpg Some progress on the chassis: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psnr1eoyqj.jpg Shocks are done: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps8renzkaf.jpg Tires had seen a better life, especially the rear ones, which are softer than the fronts, and were a bit cracked, so I went to the pharmacy and bought a bottle of glycerin to feed them and prevent further drying. It is a natural compound that helps preserve natural rubber. Silicon-based treatment should be avoided as it accelerates aging. It gave the tires a new youth definitely. http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psa2xxy12c.jpg After the treatment: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psrjdbliab.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps3ylofbdy.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psaocthfkv.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psbc6uypjd.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...psdjmcem63.jpg http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps5ibfqode.jpg Next is assembling the front and rear sway bars and chop the front nose tubes, stay tuned! |
Nice.

That is going to look better than the box David 😎 and I'm loving the shocks and that heatsink looks great on that Novak might have to strip mine 😁

Thanks for the nice comments fellas:blush: Car is now sitting as a full roller waiting for the rest of the electronics. Not so sure about the servo used so I'll go for an early standard Futaba one. Yesterday I noticed the ESC switch is not the original one that came with the Novak but can't bring myself to change that. I will have to be creative on the antenna mount as well.

Nice, both the base material and what you are making of it.

Here is the beautifully painted body I got from Doug (Squarehead design) years ago along with the wing, window netting from HotShot and Tamiya SRB driver. There will be some homework to complete this! http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/n...ps21j16fis.jpg |
Very nice. I've got to get a new shell and get it painted in box colours for my rere shelf queen car.

This looks like a artistic recreation of a masterpiece. Going to be beautiful when you finish it. Are you going to run it or is this going to be a museum piece.

I found a NIB Airtronics servo that is probably period correct, not sure what model was used exactly, but I know for sure it was an Airtronics because of the 2 black and 1 grey cables featured on the box art picture. Maybe someone has more info on the release year of this one?
