Help Needed tm2 v1 newby

Hi Guys

First of all well done to Chris Evison and Conner Cocker at the regional round 4 :thumbsup: * please send me your set up sheets ha hah ha :p

I'm in need of some help with my tm2v1 iv only raced inside on carpet, I raced yesterday in the regional didn't do so well:thumbdown:

Last heat before the final car was perfect but then it got very warm and the track was totally different I spent most of my time up side down as was to gripy on the back end I think :confused:

Now Here is what I am running

Sp pro v1 140amp esc with a 7,5 motor, now I have this set up level no 2, 90% brake 20% drag timing 18,5 think its set at iv not touch this and the net is set at 6

Now I use a absima combat servo

Carbon Shock Stay front and rear - shockers' front are fitted to the centre hole, rear is on the bottom one leaning towards the dif to the diff,

bottom of the shocker is fitted to the inner on the rear and outer to the fronts

team c big bore shockers with medium springs on back standard and ae yellow on front, im not 100% sure on the oils and pistons inside as I bought of a chap on here last month and not had time to look inside but he did use for AstroTurf

I have the 30g Brass Suspension Arm Mount front
TU0220 - Alu C-Type Holder 30 Degree for the front

aluminium castle block front rear and front with clives adapted alu tops for the turn buckles connect to,

Geared diff with 10k oil

tyres was running yellow cuts all day as I had no others in wet was using ballistics green them for last 2 races used the yellow spikes Schumacher

iv listed the above as I may have stuff on which is not needed so all im now asking is

what camber is needed on the front and back as I run -2 front and -3 on the back

iv not set the ride height as im sure this does play a big part but wasn't sure what to set at on the day

now I am going to bury next Sunday and I no ill prob need a different set up there.

but im just looking for some pointers

not sure if this makes a difference but im using a sanwa exzes x with a rx 451r

I did plenty of donuts and spun out a few times as my car is aggressive on throttle now iv not changed the throttle curve as iv o Manuel for the book
but would this help

hope someone can help cheers other than that relay enjoyed racing outside total different from the indoors, as wants my car is set inside it just stays like that and has done for 6 months

Thanks steve

can upload pics if needed :D:thumbsup:

Hi steve,

You could try this: http://www.petitrc.com/setup/teamc/s...BaseSetup2014/

That one might be old enough to be v1 and there might be some other v1 setups in the database.

Also: Team-C UK post their setups here: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=3ce85...MbEgPT7ql7r0Es

But you won't find any v1 stuff. ;-)

Check in my section of the setup area. I have a couple of V1 setups in there

I didn't change a lot from track to track, but the Stotfold one would be good as a general outdoor setup.

I used small bores but with big bore go with something like this

Front
2 x 1.6mm holes
550CST
Spring - TeamC Hard (1 dot)

Rear
3 x 1.4mm holes
300CST
TeamC Hard (1 dot)

Hope this helps
Kev

On my tm2 i pretty much run kev's stotfold setup with just a couple of changes.

front,big bores with kit pistons,37.5 oil and 2 dot springs

rear,big bores with kit pistons,32.5 oil and 2 dot springs

probably not the quickest setup but the car feels safe and you can push it when you need to,i sometimes run a 60g spine weight but i also have my other car with an alloy chassis on the same setup but 1 dot springs all round

hi chaps thanks for the info

was wondering what ride height you running with the above setup

also iv no standard team c springs iv got the team associated springs as that's what my son uses

the following is what I believe is the set up

1 Dot is Hard
2 Dot Medium
3 Dot Soft

iv got yellow ae springs on the front is this the same as the hard springs / 1Dot :confused:

I run Associated springs and currently have grey front / yellow rear on my TM2.

My TM4 has orange front and yellow rear.

Like Kev says sort your pistons/oils/springs and then check your anti-squat, toe in and links.

Stotfold if you've not been is a very challenging, grippy astroturf outdoor track so Kev's base set up will stand you in good stead for most outdoor astro in the UK :thumbsup:

hi kev information below will the springs be yellow compound front and rear using the team a big bore springs:confused:

Hi,

If you are using AE springs (which i do sometimes) I'd go with something like:

Hight Grip
Rear = Grey
Front = Orange

Low Grip
Rear = White
Front = Red

On high grip your yellow front might be a bit too soft

Hope this helps
Kev

InsideLineModels 01-07-2015 08:13 AM

Yes, use the pistons i've suggested above as a good all round setup.

18-19mm is where I normally run it, measured from the side

Thanks for the order - will be despatched today

Kev
