Tamiya turnbuckle/tie rod ball ends....er things

The little plastic bit that threads onto the turnbuckles and clips onto ball ends on TRF buggies.

What do people recommend to replace these with?

I don't race (yet) but I'd like to know for future reference. I was testing out my 201xr and went into a high speed spin. I initially thought that I'd broken a suspension arm as one wheel when all limp.

The tie rod/turnbuckle end had actually come off the thread. I would have expected the cup to come off the ball end.....but coming off the thread?
And it was screwed in most of the way too.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depends which ones are currently on the car.
Are they gray or black?
The black ones are the standard ones, Tamiya has a stronger version, they are gray.

I use the gray ones on all my cars, both 2wd and 4wd and don't have any problems with them.

Kyosho and Losi ball cups fit the 4.8mm tamiya ball studs and won't pop off

Thanks for the responses guys. Actually they are the grey ones......at least greyer than the ones on my 501.

Maybe it was a one off.

Have to say TRF ball cups were a pain for me, so soft, popped off at the drop of a hat, just awful!
I soon switched to Kyosho ones on my old XMW, never popped one again!

Instead I was forced to replace the turnbuckles.....3 races 3 snapped. What are they made off ???soft steel ? I replaced with the titanium one from Core RC.
