bmax 4iii rear mounted shocks
As per title has anyone ran the rear shocks on the back of the arm and what's the benefit?
|
My understanding was it was for lower traction. I have it on rears, can't say I can tell a difference

Makes it feel like the older car. Which isn't a bad thing.

Going to give it a try tomorrow |
That seems really heavy, ive gont down to 35 front an 32.5 rear for shorty
|
I run 650cst front and 400cst rear on carpet and that seems spot on, id like to try shocks rear, may take out some of the aggressive rotation?

Was also thinking of trying this out, but hadn't seen a thread on the subject before now. Will it be good for on the grass next weekend?

Will report back how It goes, hopefully lee it should slow steering down a little a not be as aggressive front end Mark will see you tonight anyway |
Yeah very interested Jason thanks, may even try it this coming Friday, we run Venom rears to save the carpet at our club, couple with 4WD front staggers, it makes getting a balance tricky, but i did head in the right direction last week by swapping out Orange Yatabe rears, for Purple, and adjusting the front hangers on Allans advice, back end can still be lairy though.

Lee I run the +1mm rear arms with the yz2 6mm rear hex on, now I wouldn't say it gives any more grip but it's certainly more stable. also if the back end does step out it seems more predictable so you can almost drift it rather than spin out completely.
May be some help to you |
May have to give that a try buddy, keep meaning to try the YZ2 rear end on it, just for the sake of having the parts, TBF, ive had two meets on this car, never raced offroad 4WD, and i find myself finally, pretty quick lol, its a chassis that just keeps on giving!

Tried the shocks in the rear position and after dropping the oil weights and adding some weight to the rear of the car the car felt a lot better.
It also felt more stable and like it had more grip and it seems to jump a little better |
