Turnigy TD10 rc car
 

Anyone ever raced a Turnigy TD10 and know what they are like to get parts for?

Isn't it essentially another branded car? Sukura or something. Google it

i think it is from that family of cars but i just wondered if anyone had raced one and if they had any luck with it and what parts are like to get hold of

I have a sakura xi sport and it looks almost Identical to the turnigy TD

its ok

the question is why are they 50- 60 quid to buy when other "recognised brands are around 200 quid ? answer is quality and ease of spares

Saw sakura sport on ebay this week made 23 quid :o idropped out 22 plenty for me ..

The Turnigy TD10 is a rebadged 3Racing Sakura Zero S, and it's a bargain if you don't mind a slightly older chassis design. 3Racing have replaced it with the Sakura XI. All parts designed for the full spec Zero will fit, so you can upgrade it over time. There's a review of the car here:

The answer is Hobbykings buying power, they order so much that the manufacturers offer huge discounts for the deal, plus in this case 3Racing have replaced it with a new car so it's extra sales for them. 3Racing haven't used lower quality parts in making the Turnigy version. Then they sell so much that very small profit margins add up to a lot of money.

I work for a company that imports and sells identical cars to Hobbyking, the only difference is the branding. We buy direct from the factory and our cost price is similar to or sometimes more expensive than what Hobbyking is selling them for. In many cases it would be cheaper for us to buy retail from Hobbyking than from the factory. When questioned why they sell to Hobbyking so cheap, it was pointed out to us that while we were buying 100 cars a month from them, Hobbyking are buying 4000.

Also ease of parts... for that price just buy 2 and it's still cheaper than any of the big brands lol.

I've got one of those cars and it has really impressed me. The car is tough and it runs well. I use it to race as an outdoor car for a club that runs on an un-prepared track (We use rally blocks) and it handles well.

It's not a patch on my 419, but when I took it to my local club I was able to get it in the A above higher spec cars. If I had roll bars on it I could have easily got more speed out of it on carpet.

so if you wanted to adjust the gear ratio where would you get the spur gear?

I run one at Warrington raceway good car and works right out thr box with some oil changes

so i got one built it ran it in practice it felt really good but then clipped the barrier and broke the front left wishbone, race day over for that car as i did not have any spares GUTTED!!! now ordered the ali front wish bones so we will see what happens next !!!!
