Ellis Staffords 2wd

I have just seen a pic of the top three finalists for round four of the buggy Nats and Ellis Stafford finished 3rd. The picture shows the top three with their cars. Ellis Staffords car doesn't look like a 22 2.0, it looks like a 22-4. Anyone know if he was using a 22-4 in 2wd form ?.

Well unless thats a rear motor, there is no way youll fit that body on, sooo could be, unless hes holding his 4WD for the pic, but then the front tyres are skinny too, enquiring minds haha!

It's the 4wd with front shafts and diff removed. The team was given permission at kiddi I believe to be able to finally run it as their 2wd. There running it close to 2kg I believe but Ellis showed it appears to be working!

22-4 as 2wd

Guys, is there anymore info on Ellis or anyone using car like this? Might consider trying it at RHR as that track is high grip.

Cheers lee

i dont think there is much more info to be had, the team are definitely using the 22-4 in the 2wd class. I had a very brief chat to one of them at a national, and i think they even keep the front diff in. (but don't quote me on this).

hopefully one of them will share a setup or two soon, hint hint!!!!!

The diff isn't installed. It's actually not allowed as acts like a gyro. The guys remove the front shafts and diff then run the 22 front axles

It is the 22-4 but not as some have said, we do leave the front diff out etc but everything else is 22-4, we run the 20 degree castor blocks and don't run it in shorty layout so as to get the weight back and also shocks on the rear to do the same but other than that it is pretty much a stock 22-4 with no front drive and a few little set up tweaks oh and the 22 rear end.
