What pistons are people using in their YZ-2's?

Has anyone tried non standard pistons in their YZ-2?

If so what are people using??

On smooth tracks it's fine but I raced mine last weekend on a bumpy astro track and it was noticeably bobbing a lot and breaking traction. I watched some other branded cars (this makes me feel ill to say it but KF's) which seemed really smooth and they soaked up the bumps far better.

I think the majority are using kit Pistons. 1.6 front and 1.7 rear.

Saying that, they are probably using the machined versions.

1.6. Front 1.7 rear machined pistons. Worth it for how much better they fit inside the bore.

Schelle machined pistons for me jim. 2×1.6 & 2×1.7. Shocks feel more plush i find.

I bought the Schelle machined ones as MB were out of stock of the Yokomo pistions, i found that they are too thick so when you put the e-clip on it didn't sit flat on the shock shaft washer, and rubbed on the inside of the shock causing friction.
I now used Associated machined pistions (anyone who has bought an AE kit recently will have these) and they are a perfect fit.

AE for mine.

I've got yokomo machined 2x1.7 rear and 2x1.6 fronts. What oils are you running Jim?

Yokomo have just put out a 3x1.4: http://www.teamyokomo.eu/x-shock-piston-black-1.43-hole

2x1.6 & 2x1.7 is the way to go. 3 hole piston is good on very bumpy tracks. Wouldn't surprise me if the pistons will be used by the fast guys at the worlds :D

I have just brought 2 x1.6 and 2 x 1.7 Losi machined pistons.... as recommended by MB Models....

I took there there advise, i hope i am not the only one. I am sure im not

As long as they fit, they are fine. 1.6 + 1.7 is the way to go.
