ASTRO TURF DELIVERY

Ian is trying to arrange for a large amount of Astro turf to be delivered to the track this Saturday 4 April...! I am sure he will confirm before then....it is rather weather dependent....
ALL hands will be required to help please.....

I will post on here but it will be a last minute one, the concern is that the tractor trailer unit could do a lot of damage to the track. To be honest, we don't need a massive turn out for taking delivery of the astro, but laying it is a massive job, and we will need as many peeps as possible to help out.

Could the tractor not deliver to the edge of the track without going onto it..?
I realise it would need manhandling from there...

It will be quite a big unit and he will need to turn round somewhere , we can't risk damaging the football pitch and obviously the more astro we get delivered we will have less space to put it until we need to lay it , once it's all there we can look at any damage then those areas have to have some Tarmac plainings put down then wacked level , the astro will be layed over the areas that need it most first of all so we can hold meetings again ASAP , it will have to be done in stages as it's such a massive job

Is paying a few labourers out of the question? Could do the bulk during the week then? Im available during days to oversee it (for free offcourse)

I've cancelled the astro delivery for tomorrow , after talks with the farmer it was agreed that his tractor trailer unit would cause too much damage , we are hoping for next sat instead now fingers crossed

Is there any point in doing any more preparation work...?

James wilkinson and my self are going at 10 to do a bit , but not sure much else can be done until the astro is on site

How long are you anticipating people being there? I am committed until at least 11, but if there will still be stuff going on after that I will try to work out whether my wife can cover the various activities with kids on her own. Don't think any are at parties...
