gotta ask, though - why is your starting price as high as $200 if it isn't even meeting the reserve??? I'm missing the point here... either you put no reserve and a hi starting point, or the opposite... this kind of defies the purpose.

Oh well. I won't bid cuz I hate both hi starting prices and reserves ;)

Wot your saying is you want someones pride n joy for next to nothing! You Gota love eBay:thumbsup:

Its worth $200 for the body set alone. Screw the starting price!

Lonestar 04-12-2008 08:21 AM

except there are a couple of things seasoned ebayers should know

low starting prices actually help the auction get to higher ending prices - some jerks like me refuse to play the game of a stupid high starting price, whereas a low starting prices actually encourages a higher number of bidders, who then get "energized" by the action and end up spending much higher than they would have done initially.

additionnally, the starting price is one of the criteria used by ebay to charge the seller a fee

last but not least - this is prime material indeed. It should reach high figures, the seller shouldn't care about starting prices in the end. It does have a psychological effect on the buyer tho.

Now you gave have fun and bid ;)

So correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most of those issues you have outlined more of an issue for the seller?
