How to dye wheels

Guys,

I am trying to dye my wheels but have not got a clue how to do it. I admit I am useless at trying to figure it out myself so please can some one give an idiot guide on how to dye these poxy wheels and what dye you use. Cheers.

Sharpies :thumbsup::lol:

Dylon (powder) from Hobbycraft, use an old pan and add the wheels to simmering water with dye in, leave in until darkened enough. Then rinse under cold tap. Wear gloves, and don't put anything in you don't want dying.

Im going to do this hopefully this month or next. The wheels finish it off nicely.

Thanks. RIT dye is the way to go. So easy, bung it into the boiling water, reduce the temperature so it is just below simmering and bung in the wheels for 7 to 10 mins. The water didnt boil or simmer at all and the dye didnt spoil the pan either so well impressed. I will post pics soon.:thumbsup:

Nellybobs 26-02-2009 11:01 AM

Were did you get the RIT dye from pal?...is it readily available??

Welshy40 26-02-2009 12:11 PM

Ebay. I only used 3 quarters of the packet.

Picys attached for the colour of the wheels after I dyed them. Fuscia is the colour and is really close to the shell colour.
